Mission

The Scholars in the-Schools program promotes the Smithsonian mission – “the increase and diffusion of knowledge” - in the most immediate and personal way: by bringing its experts of art, history and science to classrooms across America. World-renowned scholars, researchers and curators leave the limits of their museums and laboratories to share their expertise and enthusiasm for learning with schoolchildren, primarily Grades 4-12.
